RAILWAY COTTAGE TESTIMONIALS

Loved the Railway Cottages – Karen Shields hen-party group March 2013

Just back from our Murder Mystery weekend which was brilliant and highly recommended.  It was fantastic to have our whole group staying side by side in the amazing Railway Cottages.  The houses were so cosy and comfortable and very well equipped.  The supper around the fire on Friday night was so cozy and breakfasts delivered where we could enjoy them while still in our PJ’s was an added bonus.  Thank you for everything – it truly was a hen party with a difference and one we will talk about for a long time to come.

Valentines escape / Sharon and John Cosgrove – Kinsale

Thanks to everyone in the Foxford Lodge for the wonderful few days we enjoyed in your Railway Cottage.  We had one complaint – the time was too short and went too quickly.  You could not have done more for us.  You were there when we needed you and you left us to enjoy our little break which we really did.  We hope to be back in September.  Thank sooooo much.

Our second home!!! –   Joan Williams – Co Sligo  –  Feb 2013

We felt so at home we started to call our Railway Cottage – ‘our second home’.  It was lovely to cosy up to the lovely fire each evening after walking in the local woods and lakeside.  Everything was supplied and a real treat was having a delicious cooked breakfast delivered each morning by the cheerful Harry or his wife Brigid.   The home baked bread was to die for!   Not to be missed.

A real find in a beautiful part of Mayo – Sally Jackson October 2012

Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome.  We were attending a wedding at the Pontoon Bridge Hotel (5 mins drive) and booked the Railway Cottages for our family.  We had everything – and more – that was needed.  A lot of thought has gone into meeting the customers needs.  It was our first – but definitely not our last visit.  Highly recommend!

“Great Weekend” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2012

We recently stayed in the Railway Cottages in Foxford, The house itself was spacious spotless, really well equipped and well located a short walk from the town.
We had breakfast delivered both mornings, which were delicious. We ate out during the day, doing some site seeing, and sampling some of the local pubs in the evenings, before returning home to the cottage to light the fire and relax!
I would recommend these houses as they are in a beautiful part of the country, we were looked after very well by Harry And his wife Brigid. The week-end was a complete success and we would love to go back.

Absolutely brilliant weekend , breakfast at the lodge was amazing as was their hospitality and friendly service. Really looking forward to going back again, 10 outta 10 on everything!!

Fantastic Easter Break  –   Reviewed 10 April 2012

We stayed in the Railway cottages for a family Easter break. We found the cottage extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean,a real home from home. It was an excellent base to explore the area. We had breakfast at the main house Foxford Lodge which was without doubt amongst the best we have ever had with home made bread and scones fresh from the oven each morning, and looked after really well by Harry & Brigid.
Could not recommend highly enough.

Stayed April 2012, travelled with family –  Reviewed 25 January 2012

We’ve just spent a lovely weekend in the Railway Cottages, Foxford Lodge, Mayo. There were six of us in our party. The cottage was perfect for us – very warm, cosy and inviting. It had everything we could possibly have asked for – and more! We certainly didn’t expect a rental cottage to have a microwave, coffee-maker and dishwasher. Harry and Brigid were most welcoming and helpful. We have no hesitation in recommending the Railway Cottages to anybody who wants a break in the west of Ireland.

“Dear Harry,   I’m sorry we didn’t get to see you before we left Railway Cottages on Sunday, as we wanted to say thank you very much for providing us with the opportunity to have a lovely weekend.   The cottage was perfect for us – very warm, cosy and inviting. It had everything we could possibly have asked for – and more!  I hope we left the place as you would have wanted.   Again, our thanks to you and your wife Brigid and we’ll certainly recommend you to anybody we know who wants a break in the west.
